Infinity Ward has explained how the firm plans to roll out individual Modern Warfare 3 maps to premium Call of Duty: Elite subscribers on a monthly basis following MW3's launch, while a full pack containing the previous three months' worth of content will be released to everyone else at the end of every quarter.
"What we're going to do is roll out one or two maps a month (to premium Call of Duty: Elite subscribers)," said Modern Warfare 3's Executive Producer Mark Rubin speaking at Call of Duty XP, "and then every three months offer the full pack as a 'a la carte'.
"So basically, all the Elite subscribers get the maps two months ahead of time. I think it might go two, one, one, and then on that third month the rest of the community will be able to buy the whole pack together."
Activision's CEO Eric Hirshberg revealed earlier today that 20 pieces of Modern Warfare 3 content will release within the first year, and will include new multiplayer maps, additional Spec Ops missions, new game modes and more.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 8th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
